The Canadian Hard of Hearing Association is pleased to announce that Joy Borgonia has assumed the position of Operations manager.
Joy is a dedicated advocate for hearing loss awareness and communication accessibility, committed to fostering inclusive environments for individuals with hearing loss. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication and is a certified Career Development Practitioner in British Columbia. With extensive experience in assessing and coaching Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals in their career exploration journeys, Joy leverages her personal experiences as a Hard of Hearing individual to represent and advocate for the community authentically.
Through her engaging sensitivity workshops, Joy empowers individuals and organizations to implement inclusive communication strategies, thereby enhancing the overall communication culture within the community. Her advocacy efforts focus on educating others about the unique challenges those with hearing loss face, ensuring that their voices are heard and their needs are addressed.
In addition to her advocacy work, Joy enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and running, which reflect her enthusiasm for life and commitment to well-being.
